The National High School Clays Combine (NHSCC) is an opportunity for high school athletes involved in shotgun sports and their parents to meet college coaches AND for college coaches to meet and evaluate prospective team members.
NHSCC is a combination of shooting drills and competition meant to challenge and evaluate the student athlete’s abilities and his or her potential for success at the college level.
For the athlete, it is a chance to display your abilities and skill in shotgun shooting sports. Performing well at this combine doesn't automatically guarantee that you will be recruited by a college team but there are certainly instances of unknown student-athletes wowing coaches at a camp and getting an offer, but many times, showcase events such as NHSCC provide an introduction to a longer recruiting process.
Attending this event as a family is recommended. NHSCC offers opportunities for parents and athletes to meet and greet college coaches and to ask important questions about what it means to be a collegiate athlete.
This event was created with input from ACUI, USAYESS, SCTP, 4H and current and former college shooting coaches and athletes. We think we've developed a program that provides a unique opportunity for positive interaction between the high school and college levels of shooting sports and a chance to take those critical first steps!
