Residents of Grand Island:

People are asking me for locations in the city where coronavirus may be present.  On March 28, 2020, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services determined that we have confirmed cases of community spread of coronavirus in the city.  This means that we must assume that coronavirus is everywhere.  Please take extra precautions using this assumption.   Please keep at least 6 feet of space between you and other people, wash your hands regularly, and do not touch your face.

The following information is being provided by Heartland Public Shooting Park to summarize our response to the COVID-19 outbreak.  For the safety of our guests and staff, we will use these protocols for the foreseeable future.

Heartland Public Shooting Park will remain open for the foreseeable future.  There will be no access to the office area.  Restrooms in the downstairs area of the clubhouse will remain open and will be sanitized on a periodic basis each day.  All payments will be by telephone (credit card) or check deposited in our convenient lock box at the base of the clubhouse.  Clay target sports will require payment after you shoot on one of our ranges.  Rifle and handgun sports will require prepayment.  Shotgun, Rifle and handgun will also require completion of the range safety briefing and liability release online prior to shooting.

All “high touch” areas will be sanitized periodically throughout each day on all clay sports and rifle/handgun sports ranges.  This includes restrooms, clay target controls, and other areas on rifle and handgun ranges. 

Major events including youth team practice, and NEYESS youth conference events have been canceled through March 29, 2020.  Please email or call to confirm that your event has been canceled prior to arrival at the park. 

All monthly and weekly league events will continue on a limited basis for the foreseeable future.  USPSA and Steel Challenge leagues and monthly shoots will continue according to their regular schedule for the foreseeable future.  We encourage those attending to prepay online through PracticeScore or call us with credit card information.  Please call or email ahead of your league to confirm prior to arrival.  Clay target leagues should either pay by check into our lock box or credit card by phone.

Recreational shooting opportunities will continue to be open to individuals.  Please call us at 308.385.5048 to confirm availability prior to arrival.
